Bangor and Caernarfon Business Against Crime - BACBAC
- Establish the BACBAC partnership as an integral part of the local community safety and crime reduction strategy and work in partnership with the police, local authority, and other agencies and organisations responsible for delivering the community safety action plan.
- Strengthen partnership working within the business community
- Support and help businesses prevent criminality by reducing the opportunity to commit crime.
- Help create a “safe and secure” environment for customers, staff and visitors.
Bangor City Council
- Provision of chair for steering group.
- Provision of meeting venue.
- Project co-ordination.
- Provision of direct services in grounds/open space maintenance, public footpath maintenance and other direct services.
- Provision of support to the steering group with regards structures, formulation of work programmes and general project development issues.
- Liaison with local community through elected Council Members.
- Dissemination of information, progress of initiatives etc. to local community through local Council Members.
Bangor Civic Society
- Advisory role in relation to the protection and promotion of Bangor's civic heritage, both buildings and env
- Provision of volunteer effort and some financial assistance to environmental specific projects
- Provision of I.T. expertise and capacity for project assistance
Bangor University
- Facilitation through the Sustainability Task Group and the Students Union Environment & Community Committee
- Representation through the Registrar’s Office
- Provision of services and expertise to local businesses
- Support for additional “safe routes for students” and wider CCTV coverage
- Part funding of additional Police Officer for Bangor
Bangor University: Students Union
- Provision of volunteering experience in various fields
- Facilitation through the Environment & Community Committee to the wider student population and to the University’s Sustainability Task Group
- Support for the establishment and maintenance of a city wide loyalty scheme
- Extensive knowledge of current student issues
- Representation through the President (ex officio)
Gwynedd Council
- Provision of project co-odination and secretariate (possibly indirectly).
- Provision of direct services through the work of Community Gangs, Street Cleansing, Refuse collection, Blitz programme and the Enforcement Team.
- Provision of support to the steering group with regards structures, formulation of work programmes and general project development issues.
- Provision of support to community groups with regards project development, funding applications etc.
Environment Agency
- Support through Pride in Our Communities Project Tackling Fly-tipping and waste crime
- Waste Carrier Stop Checks
- Assistance with river clean-ups
Keep Wales Tidy
- Engage with community groups and encourage environmental improvement projects.
- Support community groups through Tidy Towns, provide funding for volunteer groups and Project officer support.
- Provide training opportunities.
Maesgeirchen Communities First Partnership
- Together with elected representatives, act as link between Balchder Bangor & the community of Maesgeirchen & Tan y Bryn.
- In conjunction with other agencies, co-ordinate & organise practical initiatives in the Marchog ward (e.g. environmental days, river cleans etc).
- Develop the local volunteer base to assist in implementation & maintenance of such initiatives.
North Wales Fire Service
- Provide Fire Safety Information to local businesses in line with the Regulatory Fire Safety Order.
- Enforcing the Regulatory Fire Safety Order
- Provide Home Fire Safety Advice to Local Residence
- Working alongside other Agencies to provide a safer community
North Wales Police
- Enforcement of Section 87(1) and (5) of the Environment Protection Act 1990. (Depositing and leaving litter in a public place)
- Enforcement of Section 12(4) Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001
Consumption of alcohol in designated areas
- Enforcement of license conditions attached to fast food takeaways including enforcing conditions in relation to litter.
- Facilitate through neighbourhoods policing the rolling Environment Visual Audit process.
- Engage with all partner agencies to facilitate any projects that enhance the City of Bangor. (Bangor City Council – by law re street entertainers)
- Investigate and administer the “Adopt a street” campaign.
