Key Developments / Strategies
Environment Agency - The Arfon (river) Adda runs through central Bangor (culverted) to an outlet at Hirael Bay. Work has now been completed replacing, diverting, and creating new sections of piping. View the flood map for Bangor indicating the route of the culvert. Details of the work undertaken can be seen on the planning site here.

Bangor University - Estate Strategy At its meeting on 25th October 2006, [The University] Council agreed the outline Estate Strategy for the next 10 years, agreeing to Option 5 as described in the strategy. Hirael Bay Development Considerations are taking place as to the future of the bay area. Proposals include Dickies, the Swimming Pool, Fire Station, Old Bus Depot, Garages along the front and area extending out to Penrhyn Port.
