  • Plaques (13/05/2009)
    7 Plaques commemorating the great and the good of Bangor have been revealed in ceremonies across the City.

    Persons include international rugby player Dewi Bebb (Ffriddoedd Road) broadcaster Huw Wheldon (Siliwen Road) astronomer John Jones ( Pizza House on Holyhead Road); writer and artist Brenda Chamberlain (Euston Road); engineer Iorys Hughes (Garfield Terrace); jazz musician Harry Parry (Caellepa) and journalist Angus McDermid (Friars Avenue).

    The Plaque Group including the City of Bangor Council, Civic Society and Bangor Business Forum hope to add to these in the future.

  • New Chair Appointed (31/03/2009)
    We are delighted to announce that Sarah Andrews has been voted in as new Chairperson of the Society. at the meeting held on the 31st March

  • Survey of the Bishops Palace Timbers (31/03/2009)
    The Civic Society have conducted a joint survey of the Bishops Palace timbers with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales - RCAHMW, results of which should be avaliable shortly.
